Granite City CrossFit is a group fitness and personal training facility. Everyday you train with us you will be coached and guided. Fundamentals are #1 with us, correct form and technique will prevent injury and keep you training! Each workout will be scaled to your ability, CrossFit is for everyone that wants to work hard and see results. Once you start, you will know in a couple of workouts if this is what you are looking for in a workout facility. You can always go back to your old routine. We want people that want something different; something that works!

The Granite City Stone & Barbell Club is an organized group that will have assigned homework when not in our regular CrossFit classes. This is not for an “Open Gym” access to CrossFit on your own. In our private Facebook page you will find all your assignments, support and event information and more. The club will also get together weekly to discuss our movements, receive additional coaching as well as reinforcing our team atmosphere.

BARBELL: We will focus on various lifts that involve the barbell. This includes but is not limited to…

  • Snatch

  • Deadlift

  • Clean and Jerk

  • Press

  • Squats

  • Overhead Work

  • etc.

These complex movement require sufficiency in the the following;

  • Able to perform a proper Air Squat

  • Able to perform an Overhead Squat at full depth with an empty bar.

  • Able to perform a Front Squat with a proper front rack position

Just a couple rules to follow..

  • Don't walk or stand in front of someone starting or mid-lift. Don’t walk behind someone on the lifting platforms.

  • Staring is natural, but don't overstay your welcome. Appreciate the lift, then move on.

  • Keep the platform and equipment clean after you finish the session, and don't leave your stuff lying around.

  • Don't slam the bar.

  • Don't step over, on, or kick the bar.

  • Don't step on the plates.

  • Pair plate brands to ensure even wear.

  • Encourage someone attempting a PR.

  • Don't have a tantrum / practice self-control.

  • Communicate with the person you're sharing a platform with.

  • Don't Lebron the chalk.

Our teen strength and conditioning summer program is designed for youth athletes and non-athletes alike. Our safe and effective program combines age appropriate weightlifting and gymnastics with fun high intensity training to deliver optimal fitness and performance. We teach proper Olympic weightlifting techniques to enhance strength and power, fundamental gymnastics for increased agility, mobility and flexibility.

Granite City HIIT is total body experience. In just 45 minutes your body will BURN FAT, torch calories, build lean muscle and improve cardiovascular fitness all while revving up your metabolism. Your body is pushed to the limits in short exercise bursts followed by passive or active rest periods. Not a fan of barbells, slamming weights and swinging from pull-up bars? Then this is what you’ve been looking for!

Not your mama's yoga class! We listen to anything from classical music to rock and pop to even electronic trip-hop and dubstep. We chose poses and flow that benefit the CrossFit athlete. Our yoga is built to better our members for mobility, flexibility and stability not only for the fundamental movements of CrossFit but better Quality of Life. Our yoga also helps our athletes learn to de-stress and balance physical and mentally.
